Yangmingshan

Yangmingshan National Park is close to the downtown area of Taipei. February and March are the flowery seasons for the park, during which various azalea and sakura attract swarms of tourists. Upon clearing up after mist and rain in summer, the “rainbow spanning across the valley” can be often seen. In autumn, the silvergrass waving in the wind and red maple leaves embellish the golden trees, presenting a picture of “Datun autumn”. In winter, Yangmingshan, low temperature and highly humid, is covered in misty clouds. In the case of attack by cold current, flying snowflakes can be seen at Qixing Mountain, Zhuzi Mountain and Datun Mountain, presenting a snow-covered world.

Yangmingshan National Park dominated by Datun Volcanic Cluster is the major volcanic distribution area in Taiwan, in which intense fumarole activities can be observed in places like Dayoukeng, Xiaoyoukeng, Macao and Dahuangzui. And the spring areas located inside the park are also famous far and wide.
