When visiting Taitung most tourists will definitely come see this extraordinary “Water Running Uphill” sight. Many tourist wonder “What is the theory of this place that confronts Newton’s Law?” Actually, the theory is easy to understand because the road beside the ditch is a downhill but the ditch itself is a small slope uphill path. When tourist standing at the lower side and view along with the downhill road it creates a magical geographical scene of water running uphill!

Fushan use to be a resourceful fishing area but 10 years later local fishermen can’t survive due to marine habitat being destroyed and over fishing. The east coast rebuilt the marine habitat itself since 2005 when the government has proclaimed Fushan to be a non-fishing area. Today, marine life in the coast has grown rapidly which it brings new business trend for marine tour and the snorkeling industry. Marine Ecological Community is what brings Fushan together and create a long lasting ocean resource.
This center, located at the East Coast National Scenic Area headquarters at Duli, contains displays of traditional dwellings and ceremonial houses as well as living demonstrations of weaving and an outdoor performance area with accommodation for an audience of up to 1,000. Here you can feel the warm friendliness of the Amis tribe's people, see their exquisite craftsmanship, and hear the resonant beauty of their songs. In addition, the Visitors Center here contains a display hall with introductions to the natural and cultural features of the East Coast, a multimedia briefing room with scheduled showings of introductory films, and interpretive and educational services.
Located at the 162-kilometer mark near the southern end of the East Coast National Scenic Area, Xiaoyeliu (Little Yeliu) offers a rich variety of fascinating rock formations similar to those found at Yeliu on Taiwan's North Shore. Unlike the rest of the Philippine Plate that determines the geology of this area, the rock of Xiaoyeliu is sandstone. This prompts geologists to believe that it originated somewhere else. You should first study the detailed explanations of the geological displays in the Visitor Center before going to the seashore and examining the tofu rock, honeycomb rock, fungus rock, and other strange ormations there. On clear days, you can easily see Green Island from the shore at Xiaoyeliu.
