Guidelines for carrying folding bikes on the bus:
1. Carrying folding bikes on the bus is allowed.
2. Please observe the following rules when carrying folding bikes:
(1) You should put the folding bike in a bike bag.
(2) There is no luggage compartment for storage. You should put your folding bike on a seat.
(3) There are more people riding on the bus during weekends and national holidays. For the quality of bus riding, carrying a folding bike on the bus is not recommended.

Concession tickets guidelines:
1. There are full tickets and half tickets. All day return tickets are offered at discount prices already. Apologize for no further discount.
2. Half tickets are available to:
(1) Senior citizens at the age of 65 or above, with ROC ID cards or Senior Citizen Cards
(2) Holders of Disabled Cards. Must ride with a guardian or a partner.
(3) Children below 12 years old at height of 115cm and below 145cm can purchase half tickets with valid IDs.
(4) Students holding valid student IDs are eligible to buy student tickets.

Guidelines for carrying pets on the bus:
1. You need to pay half fare for each pet carried on the bus. But they should not take any seat.
2. Passengers refusing to cooperate with the staffs’ advice, in case of the following, may be refused to ride on the bus. The unused tickets can be refunded in full:
(1) Suffering from serious diseases.
(2) Not carried in cages, baskets, or nets.
(3) Unclean or prone to damage other people and things.
(4) Harmful to public hygiene and other passengers; aggressive and dangerous animals.
(5) Not suitable to be carried on buses.
3. Passengers should carry their pets in cages, baskets, or nets. Each passenger is allowed to carry one pet, not exceeding the dimensions of 27cm3 (average length of 30cm on each side).
4. When carry pets, passengers should place them beside and take good care of them. They are not allowed to put on seats, luggage racks, or aisle. The cages, baskets, or nets carrying the pets should be closed or fastened tightly and wrapped up with waterproof cloth for hygiene reasons. If any passengers violate the rules and refuse to cooperate with the staff, they may be forced to leave the vehicle. The tickets will be suspended.
5. Guide dogs must be allowed on the buses to safeguard the rights of the people with visual impairment. All guide dogs can ride on the buses for free. As most guide dogs are huge, they are suggested to sit by the doors.

Jiufen (Jioufen)

  It is said that long time ago there were only nine families in Jiufen (Jioufen). Before the roads on land were built, all materials were transported via ships. Thus a habit was formed that nine pieces of same object were purchased at one time for reservation. Hence, the place was called Jiufen (Jioufen).
  Jiufen (Jioufen) used to the center of gold mining. It is located within the hills in northeast of Taiwan. The village is next to the mountain and facing the sea. In 1890, someone struck gold near Jiufen (Jioufen). The poor village with only nine families soon attracted prospectors of 4,000 families. The village once was gold city of Asia and called little Shanghai or little Hong Kong. However, with the decline of gold mining activities, Jiufen (Jioufen) fades. Later, several movies chose to shoot here and the movies won international acknowledgement. For example, the film the Sad City has won first prize in Venice Film Festival and awakened people's memory of Jiufen (Jioufen). It seems that the prosperous old streets, buildings, mines and the glamorous gold digging days are flashing before our eyes. The place is whispering its golden past. Now, there are many unique teahouses in Jiufen (Jioufen). These teahouses are best stops during visit to this mountain village. Also, there is the beautiful ocean view of Keelung outer sea.
  The most prosperous shopping district is Jiufen (Jioufen) Old Street. It goes through most of the village. There are many visitors on the street. Along the street there are shops vending the most famous country snack of Jiufen (Jioufen), yam dish and various local dishes. There are some historical items well reserved. The trip to Jiufen (Jioufen) is full of fun and delights. Jiufen (Jioufen) has many accommodation places provided by local residents. If you were not in a hurry, you may want to pick a nice inn and stay for the starlight and fishing lights at night.


  The simple lifestyle of olden times is still preserved in Jiufen. In addition to sublime mountain and coastal scenery, the unique mining culture and the gold mining history here are worthy of your visit. People who visit the rustic old streets can experience the rich ancient culture and taste traditional country snacks like herbal cakes and taro balls.
  Shuqi Rd. climbs steeply through Jiufen, its stone steps presenting the special atmosphere of 1930's architecture. The stone- step road attracts numerous visitors, including artists, media workers, and commercial producers, many of whom come to take photographs here. When climbing up the steps, visitors can smell the rich scent of tea filling the air. The town's scenic spots, including the Taiyang Mining Office, Peng Garden, Gold Mining Museum, Shengming Temple, and Jiufen Elementary School, are also worth visiting.
  Qingbian Rd. was a famous red-light district in the past. The road rises gradually and provieds expansive views, making this an excellent scenic outlook. At the crossroad of Qingbian Rd. and Shuqi Rd., you can see the famous scene where a coffee commercial was shot, the "Folk Art Gallery," on your left and, on your right, the red-light district from the movie "City of Sadness" now rebuilt into the City of Sadness Restaurant.
  Besides touring around the ancient scenes of Jiufen itself, visitors can also find numerous attractions in neighboring areas:Mt. Keelung, Fushan Temple, Jinguashi mining operations, the Crown Prince Chalet, and ruins of the Gold Shinto Shrine. They can also go sightseeing at Fulong and other sights of the Northeast Coast along the Coastal Highway. In the area of Keelung, they can visit Badouzi Beach Park or enjoy a great meal at the Keelung Night Market.

Longdong Bay

  Long Cave (Longdong) is the largest bay on the Northeast Coast. It is favored with clear water and abundant marine life, including large numbers of colorful tropical fish, making it an out-standing spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. Also, the schools of fish that gather here make the bay a highly popular rock-fishing area.
  At the southern edge of the park, the sheer sandstone cliffs of Long Cave (Longdong) Cape have become the premier rock-climbing destination of northern Taiwan. Since the cliffs are only 30-odd meters high and have a wide variety of surface forms, they are perfect for training in rock-climbing skills. At the same time, this area offers stunning vistas of Bitou Cape, Sandiao Cape, and Aodi Bay.


  Shuinandong located at Keelung’s north side mountain. There are plenty of famous attractions nearby such as Yin-yang Sea, Jinguashi, Jiufen and smelting plant for the Taiwan Metals Mining Corp. “Shui-Jing-Jiu” is another name for three famous attractions in the area which the locals named it by the first letter word of each location. Another interesting facts is that Shui-Jing-Jiu when pronounce in Taiwanese the homophonic can also means “Eternal Beauty”. From the parking lot that was provide visitor may start their journey from Liandong Cave’s trail to Shuinandong Smelter. When looking down the view there is the Golden River of Jiufen. The river is mustard yellow because Jinguashi is a mine of pyrite so when it mixed with river water the color changes. The river water flow to the ocean creates a blue and yellow mixture which is call “Ying-yang Sea”. 


  Aodi is located in the eastern part of New Taipei City’s Gongliao District and it is a small fishing village for many years. Aodi is where Japanese first landed in Taiwan and it is one of the important historical places of all. In 1979 the provincial highway 2 is constructed which dramatically change the social network of this small fishing village. In order to get to Aodi taking public transportation or the boat is two of the only ways. Even it will take about 3 to 4 hours driving from Taipei to Aodi but there are more than 20 seafood restaurants to keep the visitor’s stomach comfy. The rich marine resource of Aodi has various types of fish, seaweed, and oyster in each season. The close driving distance from Fulong attracts many surfer, windsurfer and fisher to crave the fresh seafood restaurants in the Aodi. 

Gold Waterfall

  In early times, due to copper mining activities at the upper stream of the river, rainwater seeped into the mineshafts and came into contact with iron pyrite and enargite ore. Through oxidation and catalytic reaction of iron bacteria, highly acidic water was formed and then emerged to form the astonishing scenery of the Golden Waterfall. The yellow-brown Yin-yang Sea is a natural phenomenon resulting from the acidic water of the Golden Waterfall and the Liangdong River.

Nanya Nanxin Temple

  Disembark at this station and walk for five minutes to arrive at the Nanya Coast. Due to the steep mountain face, the most common topographical landmarks are cliffs and eroded rock. The resistance to erosion of different layers of rocks has formed a unique landscape. Due to wind erosion, some rocks have been formed into pillar or even needle-like "rock sculptures". In addition, the Nanya Geographical Trail and Nanzilin Hiking Trail allow visitors to visit and take in the splendid scenery along the coast.

Longdong South Ocean Park & Yacht Harbor

  Long Cave (Longdong) South Ocean Park is 16 hectares in area, with Long Cave (Longdong) Cape in the north and Yacht Port in the south. It is the first outdoor natural educational center which combines a yacht harbor, seawater swimming pool and marine exhibition rooms. Tourists can enjoy sailing and swimming and absorb oceanic knowledge here. Long Cave (Longdong) (Dragon Cave) got its name due to the dragon-shaped rock caves stretching in this area. The management bureau has set up a tourist service center and an exhibition room here. The coasts are open year-round.
  There are 4 ocean water pools in south Long Cave (Longdong). Tourists of different age groups can swim or enjoy diving here. The best time to enjoy the water is May to October. Every year, divers visit here to appreciate the beautiful fishes and coral reefs. The northeastern coasts are the diver’s paradise and Long Cave (Longdong) South Ocean Park is the best diving site. For those who are interested in oceanic knowledge, the natural geography and intertidal zone here are the best classroom.
  The ocean park at Long Cave (Longdong) Park's south entrance is an outdoor education center that combines seashore fun with learning about the marine ecology. It is an ideal spot for swimming, snorkeling, and observing the marvels of the undersea world. Within the park are three former abalone ponds that have been converted to natural seawater swimming pools. The depth of the water varies with the tide, from knee-deep at low tide to three meters at high tide. Since the pools are connected with the sea, they are inhabited by tropical fish, sea anemones, starfish, shrimp, crabs, and other sea life. The pools are open for swimming from May to October. The Visitor Center here contains an exhibition hall with displays that explain the geology and coastal life to be seen along the Northeast Coast. On the platform below the center, you can observe sea-eroded formations and intertidal organisms in their natural environment.


  Fulong Beach is located at the mouth of Shuangxi River at Santiaowan, Gongliao District, New Taipei City. The beach stretches as long as 3 kilometers with golden sand. It has always been a summer resort in northern Taiwan. Every summer, a good number of tourists would gather here to swim and enjoy the sun. Fulong Beach was famous during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. 24 hectares in area, Fulong Beach faces the Pacific Ocean and has special golden sand. It is the most famous beach in northern Taiwan, just as Kengting is the most famous beach in southern Taiwan. In addition, the plants and ecological environment near the Shuangxi River are educational for the visitors.
  Fulong Beach has clear seawater and long soft beach. It is perfect for surfing, sliding, and sailing. There is a spacious parking lot, camping area, restaurants and food court. It is best organized bathing beach in northern Taiwan. Every summer, people come here for a swim or to appreciate the beautiful ocean. Besides, it also attracts many fishing lovers. The inner ocean and the outer ocean are connected by an arched bridge. Those who love exciting sea activities can never miss Fulong Beach.
Fulong has long been the most popular swimming beach on the Northeast Coast. In addition to the open beach, the calm and sheltered water of the Shuangxi River, which empties into the ocean here, makes this an ideal spot for wind surfing, canoeing, and other non-powered boating activities. The large sandy beach itself is perfect for swimming, sun-bathing, and other beach recreation. The red-roofed, white-walled headquarters building of the northeast Coast National Scenic Area is located near the entrance to Fulung Beach. Next to the headquarters is a Visitor Center with exhibits, video briefings, and other information on the rich variety of natural and cultural resources on the Northeast Coast. Fulong Beach is currently under the management of the Taiwan Pineapple Co. Various types of equipment are available for rent, including kickboards, inflatable swimming rings, and four-person rubber boats. A variety of other water and beach activities are offered for a fee.


  When one goes into the Longmen area (龍門地區), the rising and falling terrace lands and river banks are interlaced along the two sides of the road. The Shuangxi River (雙溪河) is flowing at a leisurely pace in the valley. The river and sea have interacted to form a special shoal head topology, distinguishing the peaceful Shuangxi River (雙溪河) from the open water of Fulong (福隆外海) and generating the interesting diverse landscapes there.
  In ancient times, Fulong (福隆) was also called WashiOku (挖子澳) or New Okutei (新澳底), because during the Japanese occupation, they connected Keelung and Yilan with railways, but the railway had to traverse Fulong (福隆) due to failure to pass through Aodi, hence geting the name “Okutei eki” (澳底驛) and later New Aodi. Out of Fulong train station, one can cross the Binhai Road, Fulong Bridge and walks along the lane at the left side, and that is the old street of Fulong.
  There are arrays of shops in front of Fulong station, and hence it becomes the most representative scene in the local area. Buildings, old and new, are standing shoulder by shoulder on the street. The grand Dongxing Palace is the worshiping center of residents, where the Three House Chitose (三府王爺) and Tian-Shang-Sheng-Mu (天上聖母) are enshrined. The birthday of every 18th June in lunar calendar for the Highness of Three Domains and the birthday of every 23rd March in lunar calendar for the Celestial Goddess are both great occasions for locals.
  Since Fulong District is located at the center of the scenic spot lying to the northeast of the coastline, Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area Administration Office (宜蘭管理處) is also set up here, so as to serve the tourists. The touring scenic spots in this area include Fulong seawater bathing spot, special use bicycle lane and Longmen camp area (龍門露營區). During summer and autumn, tourists from all directions will gather here, camp outdoors, play with water at the golden beach, and race through the seaside bicycle lane. What a delight!

Bitou Cape

  A perfect far view of Bitou Cape with glittering blue ocean is when passing through Nanya on the Coastal Highway about 85km mark. The fans of Bitou Cape always enjoy sighting the warship looking erosion cliffs and solider looking mushroom rocks that made this place seem like a true battle field. Bitou Cape means “tip of the nose” in Chinese which the name comes from the cape landform that protrudes into the ocean in a nose shape. The angulated cape forms a shape that the ocean wave can flows by either high or low tide. The water surface under the lighthouse cliff creates spectacular view of different tide with a counter clock swirl; high tide swirl is bigger than low tide. Other than strolling around the Bitou Cape Park visitor can enjoy the fantastic ecology and geological scenery. There are 3 trails leading to bay and mountain scenes, erosion landforms, ocean wave and various ecological plants. Visitor should also experiences the surrounded beauty with 360-degree elevated sighting point.
