Guidelines for carrying folding bikes on the bus:
1. Carrying folding bikes on the bus is allowed.
2. Please observe the following rules when carrying folding bikes:
(1) You should put the folding bike in a bike bag.
(2)Put it in the luggage compartment for free.
(3)When putting your folding bike on a seat, you need to pay half fare for it.
(4) Most of the buses are midibuses. They have no luggage compartments. If there are too many people, folding bikes may not be carried on the buses.

Concession tickets guidelines:
1. There are full tickets and half tickets. All day return tickets are offered at discount prices already. Apologize for no further discount.
2. Half tickets are available to:
(1) Senior citizens at the age of 65 or above, with ROC ID cards or Senior Citizen Cards
(2) Holders of Disabled Cards. Must ride with a guardian or a partner.
(3) Children below 12 years old at height of 115cm and below 145cm can purchase half tickets with valid IDs.
3. Free:
Children at the height of 115cm or below or children below 6 years old but at the height above 115cm are allowed to ride on the buses free with valid IDs. They are allowed to occupy seats. But they must be accompanied by adults with valid tickets. Each adults with valid ticket are allowed to take two children that are eligible to ride on the buses free. All children exceeding the requirements must purchase half tickets.

Guidelines for carrying pets on the bus:
1. You need to pay half fare for each pet carried on the bus. But they should not take any seat.
2. Passengers refusing to cooperate with the staffs’ advice, in case of the following, may be refused to ride on the bus. The unused tickets can be refunded in full:
(1) Suffering from serious diseases.
(2) Not carried in cages, baskets, or nets.
(3) Unclean or prone to damage other people and things.
(4) Harmful to public hygiene and other passengers; aggressive and dangerous animals.
(5) Not suitable to be carried on buses.
3. Passengers should carry their pets in cages, baskets, or nets. Each passenger is allowed to carry one pet, not exceeding the dimensions of 27cm3 (average length of 30cm on each side).
4. When carry pets, passengers should place them beside and take good care of them. They are not allowed to put on seats, luggage racks, or aisle. The cages, baskets, or nets carrying the pets should be closed or fastened tightly and wrapped up with waterproof cloth for hygiene reasons. If any passengers violate the rules and refuse to cooperate with the staff, they may be forced to leave the vehicle. The tickets will be suspended.
5. Guide dogs must be allowed on the buses to safeguard the rights of the people with visual impairment. All guide dogs can ride on the buses for free. As most guide dogs are huge, they are suggested to sit by the doors.

Luye Gaotai

  Luye Gaotai is the first place constructed with a fresh image of hot air balloon in Taiwan. It is also a new scenic spot in Taitung. Since 2011, Taiwan International Balloon Fiesta has been annually held from late June to early September. The flying shows of hot air balloon in the early morning and evening are the climax every day. Pilots from different countries navigate colorful balloons to fly. This makes the sky of Taitung in summer full of young and enthusiastic atmosphere.

Beinan Cultural Park

  The park, around 30 hectares in area, incorporates relics, primitive residents and natural landscape. Apart from the most important relic, namely Moon-shaped Stone Pillar, the exhibition hall will also introduce Puyuma relics (卑南遺址) and culture, and tourist service center and entrance square will be planned beside the parking lot of Cultural Park Road. And at outdoors, there will be set up overlooking platform, outdoor performance square, archaeological site, Beinan traditional youth meeting venue, house of traditional Puyuma tribe (卑南族). Beinan Cultural Park not only possesses the value of academic studies but also provides access for visiting, hence reaching the social education goal of relics maintenance and cultural objects preservation. In addition, there is an open green space in the park, providing a matchless place to go for entertainment and rest.

Taitung Yuan Sen Applied Botanical Garden

  Taitung Yuan Sen Applied Botanical Garden is located near the mountain area of Chulu Ranch. The ocean currents the Pacific Ocean and Kuroshio Current made a perfect climate for Taitung to grow herb plants naturally. According to the experts, Taitung has over 2000 species of herb plants in the area. In this 454 square meter garden there are a total of 200 types Taitung native plants along with various species of herbs and flowers. After a pleasant walk in the garden, visitor can taste the delicious food at the buffet-style restaurant offered by Yuan Sen. This is a great weekend getaway place for all age group. 

Chulu Ranch

  Chulu Ranch grows on a slightly acidic sandy hillside at an elevation of 200 to 390 meters above sea level and receives about 1,900mm of rainfall annually. The 70-plus hectare ranch has 45 hectares of pasture and grazing land, making it the biggest hillside pasture in Taiwan. The 350 resident Holstein dairy cows produce about 500 metric tons of milk a year. The pasture also buys milk from a cooperative of seven dairies with 1,100 Holsteins and an annual milk production of about 3,000 metric tons. The milk is processed at the ranch into about 3.5 million kilogram boxes of fresh milk.
  In addition to the dairy operations, Chulu Ranch is beautifully landscaped and equipped for visitor recreations and educational pursuits. The pasture serves an ecological and cultural preservation role as well, making it an excellent destination for ecotours in a rustic setting. Visitors can also enjoy horseback rides, take a spin in a horse-drawn carriage, and buy a wide range of locally made dairy products at the ranch store.

Kunci Temple

  The location of Kunci Temple (崑慈堂) is at the old Shrine of Luye immigrant village (鹿野移民村) during the period of Japanese occupation, out of which there are many time-honored trees. No traces can be found of the old Japanese shrine, but only a base remains upon which a booth is built. At the primary stage of liberation, Japanese escorted the deities inside the shrine back to Japan, so the locals started to worship the God of Earth there. In 1953, some villagers introduced Mazu for worshiping; in 1958, they further introduced the sacred flag of “Queen Mother of the West” (瑤池金母). As the number of worshipers increased, the old temple had insufficient space to accommodate, not to mention its dilapidation, so in 1980 people started to raise fund to renovate it into the now Kunci Temple (崑慈堂). In 1960 before completing the renovation, the Dharma Master Cheng Yen (證嚴法師) who had not gone through tonsure once practiced for two months with his mentor. Therefore, members of Benevolence Virtue Association founded by the Dharma Master Cheng Yen (證嚴法師) can often be seen visiting to retrospect upon the special experience of karma over 40 years ago.

Puyuma Settlement

  Nanwang tribe (南王部落) Puyuma, as one of the eight groups of Puyuma tribe (卑南族), is located at the northern end of Taitung City, at the location of Tai-Jiu railway entering the green tunnel. At the Nanwang tribe, one can visit the Nanwang elementary school (南王國小) with a history of over one hundred years. The main gate, command podium, corridor column, fencing wall and even stones in campus are painted with traditional patterns of Beinan ethnicity, displaying rich characteristics of Beinan ethnicity in the whole school.
  Beside the school there is Puyuma traditional cultural activity center, where it is also the center for Nanwang tribe cultural activity. In the activity center, there are Palakuwan, Takouvan, Kalumaan, overlooking platform (瞭望臺) and wrestling venue constructed with traditional methods. The sea sacrifice in July and grand hunting sacrifice in December every year will be held here, hence presenting the best opportunity for observing tribal culture and optimal photographic place for those who love shooting cultural festivals.

Honesty Shop

  Honest Store is the store that has no service people and you can simply walk in and pay with any price that you want to pay. All the income will rebate 10% to local community. It opens on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. In this store, you can find local creative handmade craft and organic vegetables and fruits.

Yulongquan Trail

  Yu Long Quan Trail has the total length of 1,100 meters and it had been divided into three sections. The first section is called Sheng An Gong trail with 108 steps of stairway and has the length of 250 meters. The second section is called Yu Long Quan riverside trail with 550 meters length. And the third section is Gao Tai forest trail with 370 steps of stairway and it will take you about one hour by walking the whole trail. Walking along the trail, visitors will see wetland ecological area, single-log bridge, water area, stream ecological area and forests.

Luye Visitor Center

  Luye Visitors Center locates in the side of Luye Gao Tai entrance. Visitors can get the tour information about Luye and consult for local tourism.

Spring Fresh Fruit Ice Pop

  Spring Trading Company is an ice stick company which is SGS certificated for the ice stick is free of food additives. The founder insists “friendly trading” notion and only purchase the fresh fruit from local farmers. Every handmade ice stick is full of fresh fruit and aroma.

Tiehua Music Village

  "Tiehua Music Village is the first services area in Taiwan’s “International Spotlight” plan. Taitung’s musician and artist created this village to share inspiration and communicate with other that has the same passion. The shops in the village are owned by local artist which is a great place to buy souvenir.
